Playa de los Muertos or translated “The Beach of the Dead” is a long sandy beach in El Centro Puerto Vallarta, Mexico. This beach is the town’s most popular and liveliest beach by far. Los Muertos Beach is an authentic and truly lively Puerto Vallarta beach experience.
It is a gay-friendly beach with a beautiful pier (the departure point for the where small boats called pangas departing for beaches further south.) and has many bars and restaurants to enjoy. Many locals and families also hang out on this beach making the diversity of the crowd part of its appeal.
This is also a popular beach for parasailing — this is fun to watch even if you choose to stay and relax on the sand yourself. You can swim at Los Muertos, check out the beach volleyball players and people-watching in general will keep you entertained.
The Beach of the Dead is in the southern section of downtown Puerto Vallarta, bordered by the Cuale River and Conchas Chinas. See map below.
